Iowa African American Hall of Fame

Recognizing outstanding achievements of African Americans with respect to enhancing the quality of life for all Iowans

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Board of Directors of the Iowa African American Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that we are currently accepting nominations for inductees to the Hall of Fame for 2017. Selected nominees will be inducted at the 22nd Annual Iowa African American Hall of Fame banquet and ceremony.

The Iowa African American Hall of Fame, a division of the Black Cultural Center at Iowa State University, recognizes individuals who have made major contributions of statewide significance that have improved the quality of life for Iowans.

Induction into the Iowa African American Hall of Fame is the highest honor an individual can receive by the African American community. The nomination process reflects the importance of this honor and requires a committed effort on the part of the organizations or individuals who complete the materials. Nominees may be living or deceased in accordance with the guidelines. We request that you carefully read, complete and return the nomination materials. Nomination forms must be postmarked no later than July 21, 2017, and late nominations will not be accepted.

If you have any questions or need assistance completing a nomination, please contact Rudy Simms at (515) 991-4398 or by e-mail at rusimmsy@gmail.com.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Iowa African American Hall of Fame Board of Directors
