Interim Senior Vice President for Student Affairs

Erin Baldwin assumed the position of interim senior vice president for Student Affairs at Iowa State University on June 5, 2020. In this role, she provides strategic leadership to the division, which encompasses a broad and diverse portfolio of units, offices, and teams organized into three units that include the Dean of Students Office, Student Health and Wellness, and Campus Life, each led by an Associate/Assistant Vice President. She also is leading the university’s emergency operations for the COVID-19 pandemic as incident commander.
Baldwin served as assistant vice president for student health and wellness since August 2018 and director of the Thielen Student Health Center since January 2016. As assistant vice president for student health and wellness, Baldwin is responsible for developing a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to student health and well-being for a growing and diverse student population. Duties include oversight of the Thielen Student Health Center, student counseling services, the student wellness office, and recreation services.
Before coming to Iowa State, Baldwin was chief operating officer for the Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa. She has senior leadership experience in provider-based clinics, pharmacy, lab, radiology, physical and occupational therapy, food and nutrition services, behavioral health services and public health. She earned a bachelor’s degree in respiratory care at the University of Kansas (2003) and master’s degrees in health care administration and public health from the University of Iowa (2006).
