Division of Student Affairs Student Scholarships

The following scholarships are available from the Division of Student Affairs. Applications and deadlines are available via OneApp

Award Amount: $2,500
Application Open: September 1- March 1

Criteria 

  • took advantage of opportunities at Iowa State University to apply knowledge to real life projects and experiences.
  • used initiative to develop a significant, unique project with demonstrable results 
  • be a junior or senior (60 credits)

Award Amount: $2,000
Application Open: September 1- March 1

Criteria 

  • 3.0 GPA or higher 
  • Recipients shall embody the traits and character of Jack Trice, such as courage and a commitment to social causes 
  • Must be an undergraduate student or incoming student
President's Leadership Initiative Awards

All President's Leadership Initiatives Awards require a cover letter, resume, essay, two recommendations, and a complete application. Applications and deadlines are available via OneApp

Requirements:

  • classified as a senior (90 credits by time scholarship is awarded)
  • demonstrate leadership in any capacity

Requirements: 

  • undergraduate student 
  • reside in university housing
  • serve in a leadership role 
  • demonstrate outstanding service to the university community
  • Scholarship amount for 2023-2024: $2,000

Requirements:

  • be a junior (at least 60 credits when the scholarship is awarded)
  • demonstrate potential for an outstanding professional career
  • Scholarship amount for 2023-2024: $2,000

Requirements:

  • classified as a senior (90 credits by time scholarship is awarded)
  • demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, university involvement and community service 
  • show promise of continued involvement with Iowa State as an alumni
  • Scholarship amount for 2023-2024: $500

Requirements:

  • undergraduate student 
  • demonstrate leadership in any capacity
  • Scholarship amount for 2023-2024: $2,500

Requirements:

  • be sophomore standing (between 30 and 60 credits by time scholarship is awarded) 
  • demonstrate leadership through community service 
  • Scholarship amount for 2023-2024: $1,000

Requirements:

  • be an undergraduate student in good standing 
  • demonstrate financial need (as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid) 
  • demonstrate academic achievement and professional potential
  • Scholarship amount for 2023-2024: $1,000
Additional Scholarships

Available to high school seniors who will be entering ISU. Half-tuition scholarships are available for 100 undergraduates, one from each of Iowa's 99 counties (two from Polk county). More information here.
